Burnett Veterinary Hospital began with a vision of an animal hospital that could serve the many different kinds of animals that reside in Pender County. We treat large animals such as horses and cows, small animals such as cats and dogs, exotic animals and birds.
Dr. Burnett has a long history of service to the community and humane work. She founded the Pender County Humane Society. Through animal rescue work during natural disasters and in the course of rehabilitating strays, Dr. Burnett has donated more than $500,000 in medical care and supplies to the care of homeless animals.
As a member of the Pender County Board of Health for the past nine years, Dr. Burnett understands the connection between the care of individual animals and public health. She has provided many low-cost rabies vaccine clinics so that every pet owner can afford this basic protection.
